Compact 9-inch CAT6 patch cord

This StarTech cable measures 9 inches and uses 28 AWG bare copper conductors in a slim UTP construction. The red jacket is LSZH rated and the connectors are snagless RJ45 plugs. It supports up to 100 W PoE for powering compatible devices. The short length keeps cable runs tidy in dense patch panels or server racks.

Ideal for short rack links, not long runs

Installers who need a low-profile jumper between adjacent switch ports or a compact PoE connection will appreciate the slim diameter and snagless tabs. Builders requiring longer horizontal runs, outdoor ratings or shielded twisted pair construction should look at other cable types. The fixed 9-inch length also limits flexibility for desk-to-wall connections.

Questions about this item

What devices need an RJ45 port to use this cable?

Any network device with a standard RJ45 jack — routers, switches, PCs, NAS units, IP cameras or PoE access points — will accept the snagless plug on this cord.

Will the 28 AWG conductors handle the same PoE load as the thicker cables I already have?

Yes, the cable is rated for 100 W PoE, so it delivers the same power capacity as standard patch cords.
