Connects a DisplayPort 1.4 source to an 8K display at 60 Hz with HBR3 bandwidth, HDR10, MST, DSC and HDCP 2.2
This DisplayPort 1.4 cable connects a DisplayPort-equipped laptop or desktop to an ultra-high definition 8K monitor, TV or projector. It is built for users who need a certified link at HBR3 bandwidth for professional or high-end gaming displays. The 3 ft length suits typical desktop-to-monitor distances without excess slack.
The single specification that decides fit is the 32.4 Gbps HBR3 link rate, which carries 7680 x 4320 resolution at 60 Hz. VESA certification and full DP 1.4 compliance guarantee that the cable meets the required electrical and timing standards for that mode. Without HBR3 support the 8K 60 Hz signal cannot be transmitted.
The passive copper construction produces no heat and no noise during normal operation. Aluminium-mylar foil with braided shielding suppresses electromagnetic interference to maintain signal integrity at 32.4 Gbps. Power draw is limited to the DisplayPort source capability for panel electronics and AUX-channel functions.

It means the cable can carry a 7680 x 4320 signal at 60 frames per second from your DisplayPort 1.4 source to a compatible display without compression artifacts.
The 32.4 Gbps HBR3 link caps the maximum uncompressed throughput, so 8K 60Hz works natively while higher refresh rates at that resolution would require Display Stream Compression 1.2.
The standard DisplayPort male plugs have the latching mechanism specified by VESA, so they seat securely in any DP 1.4 receptacle but need enough clearance for the release button.
