Extends a DisplayPort console with USB peripherals up to 300 m over fibre at 4K 60 Hz
The STARTECH FD121-KVM-EXTENDER kit extends a DisplayPort video signal and USB HID devices up to 300 metres over multi-mode fibre. It supports 4K resolution at 60Hz and includes pre-installed SFP+ modules for immediate deployment. The transmitter and receiver pair suits server rooms, industrial floors or secure offices where the workstation must remain distant from the user.
Each unit ships with SFP+ modules already fitted, so installation only requires a duplex multi-mode fibre run and power. The receiver provides three USB ports for keyboard, mouse and similar HID peripherals. Buyers needing high-speed USB 3.0 data transfer, audio pass-through or longer single-mode distances should verify those requirements before purchase.

Power on the transmitter and receiver, connect a DisplayPort monitor and USB keyboard and mouse to the receiver, then confirm the OS detects the display at 4K 60Hz and that keyboard and mouse inputs respond normally over the fibre link.
The kit contains a transmitter unit, a receiver unit and pre-installed SFP+ modules for multi-mode fibre; you must supply the multi-mode fibre patch cables to span up to 300 m and a DisplayPort cable for the source.
