STARTECH M45PATCH15BL 15 ft Cat5e network ethernet cable Blue

Suitable connections

This fifteen-foot Cat5e patch cord supports Fast Ethernet links and carries Power-over-Ethernet. The moulded RJ45 connectors and coloured hoods help identify cable runs by department. It is built for standard twisted-pair network drops in offices or homes.

Distance limit

Cat5e is rated for one hundred metres per channel, so a single fifteen-foot run stays well within the specification. Signal quality depends on the whole link, including patch panels and wall outlets, not on this cord alone. Exceeding the total channel length will degrade performance.

Compatibility check

Verify that your switch, router or wall jack uses standard RJ45 ports and that the overall cable run stays within the hundred-metre channel limit. Ensure the equipment supports the speed you need, because this cable does not raise the category rating of the link.

Features and use

Coloured hoods simplify cable management when multiple runs share a cabinet or tray. The cable is suited to Fast Ethernet and PoE devices such as access points, cameras or VoIP phones. It does not support Gigabit speeds beyond the Cat5e standard.
