Ready-to-use Cat6 patch cable for standard

This 12-foot green Cat6 patch cable delivers reliable Gigabit network connections for everyday Ethernet applications. It connects a wall jack to a laptop docking station or desktop computer with snagless RJ45 connectors on both ends. The green jacket simplifies color-coding in structured cabling setups.

Cat6 bandwidth ceiling and PoE power limit

The cable is rated to 250 MHz and supports Multi-Gigabit speeds of 1, 2.5, 5 and 10 Gbps up to 160 ft. It carries up to 100 W of Power over Ethernet on its 24 AWG 100% copper conductors. Beyond the 160-foot distance the 10 Gbps rate is not guaranteed by the category specification.

Twelve-foot reach with headroom for 10 Gbps

At 12 ft the cord stays well within the 160 ft limit for 10 Gbps operation, so full Multi-Gigabit throughput is available. The 100 W PoE capacity covers high-power devices such as PTZ cameras or wireless access points. Installations requiring longer runs or higher frequencies than 250 MHz will need a higher-category cable.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 12 ft green Cat6 cable or a different length and colour?

Pick the 12 ft green version when the run from wall jack to laptop dock or desktop is roughly that distance and you want green for colour-coding; other lengths and colours exist for different runs or coding schemes.

What does the 250 MHz rating mean once the cable is installed?

The 250 MHz bandwidth supports Multi-Gigabit speeds of 1, 2.5, 5 and 10 Gbps up to 160 ft, so a 12 ft link will carry those rates with headroom.

How does the RJ45 connector and Cat6 standard cap real-world performance?

Gold-plated RJ45 ends and Cat6 spec limit the link to 10 Gbps at 250 MHz over 100 m, while the 24 AWG stranded copper and 100 W PoE support let you push full speed and power simultaneously.
