Two-Port Hybrid KVM

The StarTech SV221HUC4K is a compact two-port KVM switch that lets one HDMI monitor, keyboard and mouse serve a USB-C device with DisplayPort Alt Mode and a traditional USB-A plus HDMI computer. Push-button switching changes the active host instantly without software drivers.

Single-Monitor Desktop Fit

The switch draws power from the USB bus so no external adapter is required. One metre USB-C, USB-A-to-Micro-USB and HDMI cables are included, letting you connect both hosts and the console display right out of the box. Audio passes through the HDMI link for speakers or headset use.

For Mixed-Port Workstations

Ideal for users who alternate between a modern laptop or tablet and a legacy desktop while keeping a single 4K 60 Hz screen. Not suited for setups needing dual monitors, DisplayPort or USB 3.x peripheral bandwidth, or rack-mount installation.

Quick-Start Guide

Questions about this item

Does the USB-C host port deliver enough power to keep a laptop charged during long sessions?

The USB-C port carries DP Alt-Mode video and USB 2.0 data at 480 Mbps but does not supply charging power; the switch itself is bus-powered from the connected hosts.

How hot or loud does the unit get when left running 24/7?

With no fan and a 0.44 lb passive chassis measuring 0.60 x 2.80 x 5.40 inches, it runs silently and stays barely warm under continuous use.

What cables must I already have to connect a USB-A desktop and a USB-C laptop?

All required host cables — USB-C, USB-A to Micro-USB-B, and HDMI — are included at 1 m each, so no extra cables are needed.
