Controls four VGA and USB computers from one keyboard, mouse and monitor in a 1U rack unit
Computer Connections 4 Ports
Style Single Monitor - USB
This StarTech.com SV431DUSBU lets you manage four USB-equipped computers from one USB keyboard, mouse and VGA monitor. It fits a standard 1U rack space and is aimed at datacentres, server farms, co-location sites and test labs that need single-console administration. The unit includes the required power adapter and unique cables for a secured connection between each computer and the switch.
The switch mounts in a 1U rack slot and connects to each computer through the supplied High Density DB15 and USB cables; console peripherals plug into the front-panel DB15 and two USB Type-A ports. Selection is made by front push-buttons, keyboard hot-keys or the on-screen display. A frequent issue is mismatched cable length or loose DB15 screws causing intermittent video; ensure all connectors are fully seated and secured before powering on.
Video output tops out at 1920 x 1440 at 60 Hz, with 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz for widescreen formats; higher resolutions or refresh rates are not supported. The console keyboard and mouse share a single USB connection, so only standard USB HID devices are guaranteed to work — advanced gaming peripherals or multi-function USB hubs may not function correctly. The unit operates between 5 °C and 40 °C at up to 80 % relative humidity.

The green power LED should be lit and the red selected-PC LED for the active port will illuminate; use the push buttons, hot-key sequence or OSD menu to cycle through all four ports and verify video appears at up to 1920 x 1440@60Hz on the shared monitor.
The unit ships with the 9 V DC 500 mA power adapter; the four proprietary DB15-to-USB KVM cables required to link each computer are sold separately.
The SV431DUSBU provides exactly four computer ports in a 1U rack-mount chassis measuring 1.69 x 8.66 x 5.12 inches and weighing 3.31 lb, matching smaller server-farm or lab deployments where only four USB-and-VGA systems need single-console control.
