The StarTech USBPLATE4 converts two internal motherboard USB headers into four external USB Type-A ports at the rear of the chassis. It uses a 11.25 inch cable to bridge the 10 pin IDC connectors on the board to the slot plate bracket. The adapter supports both 4 pin and 5 pin header layouts.

Installation requirements

You need two spare internal USB headers on the motherboard and an available expansion slot opening at the back of the case. The bracket occupies one full-height slot but requires no power connection beyond the header pins. It frees front-panel headers for other uses while moving ports to a more accessible rear location.
