Converts PC VGA signals up to 1600x1200 into composite or S-Video for TV display with NTSC and PAL support
The StarTech VGA2VID adapts a computer's VGA output for composite or S-Video displays. It targets users connecting legacy PCs to older CRT televisions or flat-panel screens lacking VGA inputs. The unit requires a 5 V DC power supply with positive centre-tip polarity. Builders needing HDMI, DisplayPort or component-video outputs should look elsewhere.
Accepted PC resolutions span 640x480 through 1600x1200, while the maximum analog output resolution is 1152x864. Signals above that input ceiling cannot be processed, and finer detail is lost in the down-conversion to composite or S-Video. The converter operates reliably between 0 and 70 °C. Buyers who want pixel-perfect capture or higher output resolutions cannot be served by this device.
A selectable switch chooses between underscan and overscan modes to fit the image to different TV types. Both NTSC and PAL display standards are supported through the two output formats. No cables, mounting hardware or configuration software are included in the package. Users requiring bundled cables or on-screen adjustment tools will need to source them separately.

Yes, the converter accepts input resolutions from 640x480 up to 1600x1200, so it will handle that signal and output composite or S-Video to your display.
Verify the image appears on the composite or S-Video screen, then use the underscan or overscan switch to adjust the picture edges until the full desktop fits the display area.
The unit itself is supplied without cables; you will need a standard VGA lead for the input and either a composite RCA cable or an S-Video cable for the output connection.
