World's fastest TKL keyboard

The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL HyperMagnetic 64856 is a tenkeyless gaming keyboard built around OmniPoint 2.0 adjustable magnetic switches. It delivers 20x faster actuation and 11x faster response than traditional mechanical keyboards. An integrated OLED smart display lets you change profiles and settings on the fly. Detachable USB-C connectivity and doubleshot PBT keycaps complete the esports-ready package.

Adjustable actuation limits

OmniPoint 2.0 switches use magnetic sensors for zero-contact activation across 40 levels of per-key actuation from 0.1 to 4.0 mm. Rapid Trigger dynamically activates and deactivates keys based on travel distance instead of a fixed point. Two-in-one action keys assign a second function to a deeper press on the same key. The USB-C interface carries both power and data without extra adapters.

Upgrade from fixed mechanical switches

This keyboard replaces standard mechanical boards that lock you into a single actuation point and fixed response times. The jump is worth it for competitive players who need per-key tuning, Rapid Trigger latency removal, or dual-action keys for movement combos. It is not for buyers who want a full-size layout with a dedicated number pad.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the TKL or a full-size version for my desk?

This model is the tenkeyless TKL form factor with 104 normal keys and a detachable USB-C cable, saving desk width while keeping full-size functionality.

What does the 20x faster actuation claim mean when I am actually playing?

OmniPoint 2.0 magnetic switches register each keystroke at 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm travel, giving 20x faster actuation and 11x faster response than standard mechanical keyboards.

How does the USB-C connection limit what I can do with the keyboard?

The detachable USB Type-C interface provides wired power and data with no wireless latency, and the OLED Smart Display lets you adjust 40 actuation levels and profiles on the fly.
