What this keyboard is and who it fits

The SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Gen 3 is a 65% gaming keyboard built around OmniPoint 3.0 switches with adjustable actuation. It connects by USB 2.0 and uses a membrane design with tactile rubber dome switches. The compact layout omits a palm rest and suits players who want a smaller desk footprint.

Installation ease and common issues

Plug the USB-C cable into a USB 2.0 port and the keyboard is recognised immediately. No extra drivers are required for basic use, though the SteelSeries GG software unlocks Rapid Trigger, Protection Mode and Rapid Tap settings. The main friction point is the learning curve for 40 actuation levels; some users leave the defaults rather than tune each key.

The spec that decides fit

The 65% layout removes the function row, numpad and dedicated navigation cluster while keeping arrow keys. If your workflow depends on those missing keys, this form factor will not suit you. The adjustable actuation range of 40 levels and the 20x faster actuation claim are the decisive factors for competitive gaming buyers.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the OmniPoint 3.0 switches are registering Rapid Trigger correctly after setup?

In SteelSeries GG software, enable the Rapid Trigger visualiser; each key press will show an instant actuation bar moving with no debounce delay, proving the Hall Effect sensors are active.

What comes in the box with the 64913 and what must I purchase separately?

The keyboard, a USB-C cable and keycap puller are included; a wrist rest and extra PBT keycap sets are sold separately.

Which 65% layout variant of the Apex Pro Mini Gen 3 should I choose for competitive FPS play?

The single 65% model with OmniPoint 3.0 switches, 40 actuation levels, Rapid Tap and Protection Mode covers every competitive need; no other layout or capacity versions exist for this MPN.
