PC and PlayStation 4 Gaming Headset

The SteelSeries Arctis 5 2019 Edition is a USB gaming headset built for PC and PlayStation 4 players. It delivers DTS Headphone:X v2.0 surround sound and features Prism RGB illumination on the earcups. The retractable ClearCast microphone is Discord-certified for studio-quality voice clarity. A USB ChatMix dial lets you balance game and chat audio on the fly.

Competitive players wanting surround sound

This headset suits gamers who need immersive positional audio and independent game or chat volume adjustment. The bidirectional mic design focuses on your voice while cancelling background noise. Buyers who want a wireless connection or a headset compatible with Xbox consoles should look at something else. The USB connector limits use to platforms that support USB audio.

DTS Headphone:X v2.0 surround sound

The single specification that decides fit is the DTS Headphone:X v2.0 surround processing. It creates a multi-channel soundscape through the stereo drivers so you can locate footsteps and directional cues. If your preferred platform does not support USB audio or the DTS software, this headset will not deliver its intended advantage. The 1.5 unit weight keeps it light for long sessions.

Plug the USB connector into the PC, install SteelSeries Engine software, then enable DTS Headphone:X v2.0 in the audio settings and select the headset as the default playback device.

What part of the Arctis 5 2019 Edition is most likely to need replacement after extended use?

The retractable Clearcast bidirectional microphone or the ear cushion pads typically wear first with heavy daily gaming sessions.
