Camera Overview

The Sunpentown RNAB00MCWX8QW is a weatherproof dome camera built for outdoor surveillance. It uses a 1/3" colour CMOS sensor to deliver 1000TVL resolution. A 2.8mm to 12mm varifocal lens allows adjustable viewing angles. Thirty-six infrared LEDs provide illumination up to 100ft in low or zero light conditions.

Suitability

This unit suits installers who need a varifocal lens for flexible coverage and strong night vision up to 100ft. The die-cast aluminium housing withstands exposed mounting. Buyers who want integrated recording, wireless connectivity or pan-tilt-zoom functions should look at something else because this camera provides video output only.

Installation Check

Verify that your DVR or monitor accepts the camera’s analogue video signal before ordering. Confirm you can run a power cable to the mounting location as the camera requires external power. Ensure the 3-axis bracket offers the adjustment range needed for your chosen angle. Check that 100ft infrared range covers the desired surveillance distance.

Questions about this item

Does this 1000TVL dome camera need a separate power supply to operate?

The camera requires an external 12 V DC power source; the supply is not included in the box.

Will the varifocal lens adjust to cover the same area as my existing fixed-lens cameras?

The 2.8 mm to 12 mm varifocal lens lets you zoom the field of view to match different scene widths.

How can I verify the 100 ft night-vision range after installation?

In darkness the 36 IR LEDs illuminate up to 100 ft; check recorded footage at that distance for clear detail.
