Supports single AMD EPYC 7003/7002 processor with eight DDR4 3200 slots up to 2TB, five PCI-E 4.0 x16, two PCI-E 4.0 x8 and dual M.2 2280/22110
The Supermicro MBD-H12SSL-C-O is an ATX server motherboard built around a single Socket SP3 for AMD EPYC 7003 and 7002 series processors. It targets system integrators and IT departments that need high core-count compute in a standard chassis form factor. The board delivers enterprise RAS features and 2 TB registered ECC DDR4-3200 capacity across eight DIMM slots.
Moving from an earlier EPYC 7002 deployment to 7003 Milan processors requires BIOS 2.0 or newer, while 3D V-Cache SKUs need version 2.3 or newer. The jump is worth it when workloads benefit from higher per-core performance and larger L3 cache without changing the socket or memory infrastructure. Existing Rome-based systems can reuse the same chassis, power and cooling design.
Eight DIMM slots populate the full eight-channel memory controller, freeing builders from populating partial channels on smaller boards. Five PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, two PCIe 4.0 x8 slots and two M.2 connectors supporting 2280 and 22110 form factors provide dense accelerator, networking and storage expansion. The ATX layout fits standard server racks while leaving room for full-length add-in cards.

The board follows the ATX form factor, so any chassis that accepts a standard ATX motherboard with the usual mounting holes will accommodate it.
The 7003 series requires BIOS version 2.0 or newer for drop-in support, while the 3D V-Cache variants need version 2.3 or newer.
Registered ECC DDR4 modules do not require periodic reseating; they are designed to stay securely seated for the life of the system.
