ATX server board for 10th-gen Intel Core and Xeon W-1200 CPUs, four DDR4-2933 slots up to 128 GB ECC, dual gigabit LAN, IPMI video, and M.2 plus SATA RAID
The Supermicro MBD-X12SCZ-F--O is a Micro ATX server motherboard built around the Intel W480 chipset and LGA 1200 socket. It supports Xeon W-1200 processors and 10th-generation Intel Core i9, i7, i5, i3, Pentium and Celeron CPUs up to 125W TDP. The board targets small business servers, workstations and edge deployments that need ECC memory support and dual gigabit LAN in a compact form factor.
The board fits standard Micro ATX mounting points and uses a 24-pin ATX plus 8-pin EPS power connector layout. Four 288-pin DDR4 slots accept unbuffered ECC or non-ECC UDIMMs at 2933 MHz for a maximum of 128GB. Builders sometimes forget to enable ECC in the BIOS after populating all four slots, and the single PCIe 3.0 x16 slot shares bandwidth with the M.2 M-key slot when both are populated.
Verify that your chassis accepts Micro ATX dimensions and provides adequate airflow for a 125W CPU cooler. Confirm the power supply delivers an 8-pin EPS connector for the CPU. Ensure any M.2 storage uses the M-key 2280 or 22110 form factor for the primary slot or E-key 2230 for the CNVi slot. The rear I/O includes two DisplayPort++, one DVI-D and one VGA driven by the Aspeed AST2500 controller, so no discrete GPU is required for basic display output.

Connect a monitor to the VGA D-Sub, DP++ or DVI-D port; if the BIOS splash screen appears and the IPMI interface responds over the dedicated management LAN, the AST2500 is functioning.
The board ships with an I/O shield and SATA cables; you must supply a LGA 1200 CPU, up to 128 GB of DDR4-2933 UDIMM modules, storage drives and a Micro-ATX compatible chassis with power supply.
Any 10th-generation Core i9, i7, i5, i3, Pentium or Celeron plus Xeon W-1200 processors up to 125 W TDP are supported; pick based on core count, ECC memory need and workload rather than model name alone.
