ATX server board with W680 chipset, LGA1700 socket, four DDR5 slots up to 128 GB, eight SATA3 ports and dual Intel LAN
This Supermicro ATX server motherboard uses the Intel W680 chipset and a single LGA-1700 socket. It supports 12th Generation Intel Core i3, i5, i7 and i9 processors with a TDP up to 125W and up to 16 cores. The board is sold new without memory installed.
The four DIMM slots accept DDR5-4400 UDIMMs at 1.1V, scaling to 128GB total with 8GB, 16GB or 32GB modules in ECC or non-ECC flavours. Eight SATA3 ports from the W680 controller provide RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 for local storage arrays. Buyers who need more than four memory slots or a different memory type should look elsewhere.
Maximum system memory is 128GB across the four UDIMM slots running at 4400MHz. This capacity limit is the deciding factor for workloads that require larger in-memory datasets.

The board follows the standard ATX form factor, so any chassis that accepts ATX motherboards will fit.
Connect both the 24-pin ATX and the 8-pin EPS cables; the CPU will not initialise if the EPS connector is loose.
DDR5 UDIMMs generally run for many years; replace a module only if memory diagnostics report errors.
