Upgrade from a failed or missing original unit

It replaces the factory supply when that unit has failed or is absent. The swap is worth it when the existing power supply no longer delivers stable power or when a rebuild requires a matching 290 W unit with the correct connector layout. Builders needing higher wattage or different form factors should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will this 290W unit fit inside a Dell 3020 or 9020 MT chassis?

It is built as a direct replacement for the Dell 3020 and 9020 MT form factor, so it slides into the same bay and uses the original mounting screws.

Which power cables must be connected during installation, and which one is often missed?

Plug in both the 8-pin and the 4-pin motherboard connectors; the 4-pin CPU auxiliary lead is the one installers most frequently forget.
