Delivers 1725 watts at 12 volts and 134 amps for IBM P720 servers

  • High 1725 W output powers demanding server workloads
  • 12 V 134 A rail delivers stable current to components
  • Switching design improves energy efficiency
  • Mute operation keeps rack environments quiet

IBM P720 replacement PSU

This 1725W server power supply matches the IBM 7001490-J000 specification and delivers 12V at 134A. It is built for IBM P720 systems that require a high-power switching unit with mute operation. The unit fits directly into the original power bay without modification.

Upgrade from failed or degraded original units

Replacing a worn supply restores full 1725W capacity and stable 12V output for the P720 chassis. The jump is worth it when the existing unit shows voltage drift, fan noise or unexpected shutdowns under load. Builders needing redundant modules for other platforms should verify compatibility before purchase.

Questions about this item

What server chassis or mounting slots does the 7001490-J000 P720 1725W unit fit?

This supply is built for the IBM P720 chassis; it slides into the standard redundant power bay and locks with the integrated retention lever.

Which cable or connector must be seated first during installation to avoid a no-post condition?

Insert the main 12 V output connector fully until the latch clicks, then engage the PMBus signal cable; reversing the order leaves the management bus floating and the server will not power on.
