Certified contaminant reduction

The filter meets NSF and ANSI standards 42, 53 and 401 for reducing volatile organic compounds, pharmaceuticals, chlorine taste and odour, lead, cysts and mercury. Coconut-shell carbon provides up to 50 percent more filtering pores than standard media. It does not remove beneficial minerals from the water.

Six-month service interval

Each cartridge is rated for roughly six months of typical household use before replacement is recommended. The three-pack covers up to eighteen months of continuous filtration. Households with very high water usage or heavily contaminated supply may see reduced cartridge life.

Questions about this item

Which refrigerator models accept the SGF-DA20B Rx filter?

It is compatible with DA29-0020B, DA2900019A, DA2900020A, DA97-08006A-B and DA97-08006B part numbers.

How is the filter replaced and what step is often missed?

No tools are needed; twist the old cartridge out, insert the new one until it locks, then flush several litres of water to clear carbon fines.

When should the filter be changed and what wears out?

Replace every three to six months; the coconut-shell carbon media becomes saturated and loses its ability to reduce VOCs, pharmaceuticals, lead, cysts and chlorine taste.
