Classic 747 Desktop Stapler

The Swingline 74701 is a full-strip desktop stapler built for everyday office use. Its metal construction and die-cast base provide a stable platform for repetitive stapling tasks. The mechanism is engineered for jam-resistant performance with every press. It suits administrators, students and home-office users who value reliability.

20-Sheet Capacity and 210-Staple Magazine

The stapler drives through up to 20 sheets of standard paper using Swingline S.F. 4 Premium Staples. An internal rail guides each staple for consistent alignment and reduces misfires. The magazine holds 210 staples, so reloads stay infrequent during high-volume sessions. Thicker stacks or heavy card stock will exceed the rated limit.

Tacking and Pinning Versatility

The unit opens fully for tacking bulletins or soft materials, and the anvil rotates to create temporary pin staples. A positive locking latch secures the staple channel in either mode. Buyers who need electric power, high-capacity cartridges or heavy-duty construction beyond 20 sheets should consider alternative tools.

Questions about this item

Will the 74701 work with the same staples I already use in my older Swingline stapler?

The 74701 is designed for Swingline S.F.® 4® Premium Staples; if your older model uses that same staple type, the staples will be compatible.

How can I verify the 74701 is stapling correctly right after I take it out of the box?

Load a strip of S.F.® 4® staples, close the positive locking latch, and staple a test stack of up to 20 sheets; clean, flush staples confirm proper operation.

Does the 74701 include a starter supply of staples, or do I need to buy them separately?

The product is sold as a single unit with no staples included; you must purchase Swingline S.F.® 4® Premium Staples separately.
