This cabinet replaces open-frame racks or shallower wall-mount units when dust protection, physical security and deeper equipment support are required. The jump is worth it when you need 20 inches of usable depth for longer servers, UPS units or audio gear and want included accessories worth over $90 such as an 8-outlet PDU, two shelves, a cooling fan, brush cable entries and mounting hardware.

Fixed 24-Inch Depth and Wall-Mount Load Limit

The 24-inch overall depth and 20-inch usable depth limit the maximum chassis length you can install regardless of rack-unit height. Wall-mounted installations are rated for 133 lbs total load, so heavier fully populated configurations may need floor-supported or free-standing placement instead. The EIA-310 19-inch mounting pattern is the only interface standard supported.
