Purpose and fit

This 1.5Ft outdoor extension cord adds an IP66-rated on/off switch between a power source and equipment that needs frequent switching. It is built for festival lights, garden lighting, office devices and kitchen appliances where a single control point is more convenient than plugging and unplugging each time.

Installation notes

The inline switch lets you cut power without handling the plug, reducing wear on outlets and improving safety for daily-use items. Note that only the switch housing carries the IP66 rating; the cable ends themselves are not waterproof, so connections must stay under cover or in protected enclosures.

Capacity and limits

The 16AWG SJTW cord is UL listed for up to 20A at 125V and accepts NEMA 5-15, 5-20, 6-15 and 6-20 blades through its 4-in-1 T-blade female socket. It is not suited for loads beyond 20A or for permanent submersion, and the short 1.5Ft length means it only bridges small gaps rather than extending reach across a site.
