Cellular Security for Remote Sites

The Tactacam Defend DFD-GRD01 is a cellular security camera built for locations without Wi-Fi or wall power. It suits property owners monitoring large acreage, construction sites, boats or RVs. The camera operates on AA batteries or optional solar accessories sold separately. Setup uses a mounting bracket and the Defend app with a subscription plan.

Included 32GB Storage and Headroom

A Lexar 32GB SD card ships in the box, providing local storage for captured images and video clips. The card handles routine motion-triggered recordings and on-demand HD requests from the app. Very high event frequency or extended on-demand sessions will fill the card faster, requiring offload or overwrite. No larger capacity is included.

Cellular Interface Practical Limits

The camera relies on a cellular connection provided through a Defend subscription, so coverage depends on carrier signal at the install site. Weak signal can delay notifications, reduce on-demand video quality or prevent live requests entirely. No Wi-Fi fallback exists. The subscription tier chosen also governs how many images and videos are available each month.

Questions about this item

Will this camera work alongside my existing Wi-Fi security system?

This camera uses a cellular connection instead of Wi-Fi, so it operates independently of your current network and can cover remote areas without internet access.

How do I confirm the motion detection is sending alerts to the Defend app?

When motion is detected, the app delivers a notification with the captured image, letting you verify the camera is active and transmitting correctly.

Does the package include a power supply or solar panel for continuous operation?

The box contains the camera, a rechargeable battery, a 32GB SD card, and a microfiber cloth. AA batteries, solar panels, and other power accessories are sold separately.
