75W 16V AC adapter for notebooks

This Targus APA02USZ adapter supplies 75W at 16V to power or charge compatible notebooks at home or in the office. It includes three tips (M, N, P) that fit various PC notebooks from brands such as Acer, Fujitsu, Hitachi, select IBM/Lenovo, Panasonic, Sony and Toshiba. The unit is light and compact at 1.2 lbs for easy travel and storage. Built-in over-current and short-circuit protection with auto recovery helps prevent damage to the notebook.

Installing the adapter and tip selection

Connect the AC cord to the adapter, choose the tip that matches your notebook, and plug it into the device. The three included tips cover multiple models but are not compatible with Targus adapters APA10US, APD10US or APM10US. Buyers must verify their notebook model against the manufacturer product page before purchase. If the required tip is not M, N or P, this adapter cannot be used.

Limits of the 75W 16V barrel interface

The adapter delivers a fixed 16V output up to 75W, so notebooks requiring a different voltage or higher power will not operate correctly. Polarity and tip diameter are fixed by the supplied tips, so devices with proprietary or non-barrel connectors are unsupported. The 5.0 x 1.96 x 1.18 inch brick has no USB-C or other output ports, limiting use to the included barrel tips only.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the APA02USZ is delivering 75W at 16V after I plug it in?

The adapter has a green LED that lights when it is receiving mains power and supplying output; if your notebook shows it is charging and the tip fits securely, the unit is working as intended.

What comes with the APA02USZ and what must I buy separately?

The box includes the 75W 16V adapter, a detachable AC cord, and three notebook tips labelled M, N and P; no extra items are required for the listed compatible notebooks.

Which tip version should I choose for my notebook?

Match your notebook brand to the included tips — M, N or P cover Acer, Fujitsu, Hitachi, select IBM/Lenovo, Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba and others; check the manufacturer’s model list for the exact fit.
