Heavy-duty polyethylene tarp

This 16 ft x 20 ft black poly tarp weighs 6 oz per square yard and measures 11-12 mil thick. The 14x14 weave count provides tear resistance for demanding outdoor use. It suits homeowners, campers and contractors who need reliable coverage for vehicles, equipment or firewood.

11-12 mil thickness and 6 oz fabric weight

The combined thickness and fabric weight determine whether the tarp withstands prolonged sun, rain, snow and wind. A lighter or thinner sheet would degrade faster under the same conditions. Buyers who need a lighter dust cover or temporary indoor drop cloth should choose a different product.

Rustproof grommets every 18 inches

Aluminum grommets spaced approximately 18 inches apart and at each reinforced corner allow secure tie-down in high winds. The 100 percent sun-blocking property keeps covered areas cooler and protects contents from UV damage. No additional fastening hardware or UV coatings are included.

Questions about this item

How thick is the 11-12 mil tarp once it is covering a load?

The tarp measures 11 to 12 mil thick, which is roughly the thickness of a heavy-duty contractor bag, so it resists punctures from sharp edges while staying flexible enough to fold.

What does the 14x14 weave count mean for tear resistance?

A 14 by 14 thread count per square inch creates a tight polyethylene grid that stops small rips from spreading, even when the tarp is flapping in wind.

How far apart are the grommets for tying it down?

Rustproof aluminum grommets sit every 18 inches along the edges and in each reinforced corner, giving plenty of anchor points for rope or bungee cords.
