Purpose & audience

This medium-duty polyethylene tarp measures 16 by 20 feet and weighs 4.5 ounces per square yard. It suits homeowners, landscapers and campers who need a durable cover that blends into wooded surroundings while shielding equipment, firewood or ground areas from the elements.

What the bundle changes

Rustproof aluminium grommets placed roughly every 36 inches and at each corner let you secure the tarp quickly with rope or bungee cords. Reinforced hems bound with poly twine resist tearing when the cover is pulled tight, and the UV-treated, waterproof, mildew- and acid-resistant coating extends outdoor life in direct sun, rain or snow.

Check before ordering

The listed dimensions are cut size, so the finished tarp will be about six inches or three to five percent shorter in each direction. Verify that the reduced footprint still covers your intended area and that the grommet spacing matches your tie-down points. Buyers who need exact finished measurements or a heavier-duty fabric weight should consider a different specification.

Questions about this item

How often should I check the aluminum grommets spaced every 36 inches for wear?

Inspect the rustproof aluminum grommets at the start of each season; replace any that show elongation or corrosion to keep tie-downs secure.

Which stress appears first when the tarp is left in direct sun for months?

UV degradation of the polyethylene weave reduces tear resistance before the 10 Mil thickness or 4.5 oz fabric weight is compromised.

Does the tarp trap heat underneath during all-day summer use?

The forest green colour absorbs solar energy, so surface temperatures rise; leave an air gap or ventilate the edges to limit heat build-up.
