Practical limits of polyethylene sheeting

The tarp is listed at cut size, so the finished piece will measure about 6 inches or 3 to 5 percent shorter in each dimension. Polyethylene can become brittle in extreme cold and may degrade faster under constant high UV load despite the treatment. It is not fire retardant and should not be used where flame resistance is required. Sharp edges or abrasive surfaces can still puncture the material under tension.
