8' x 10' Silver Heavy-Duty Tarp

This 8 by 10 foot silver tarp is built from 6.0-ounce UV-treated polyethylene that is waterproof, mildew, acid and tear resistant. It blocks 100 percent of sun rays to keep covered items cooler in direct sunlight. Rustproof aluminium grommets are placed approximately every 18 inches and at each corner for secure tie-downs. The finished size measures close to the stated dimensions.

Suits outdoor cover and shade needs.

Homeowners, campers and DIY users will find it useful for covering cars, boats, firewood, patio furniture or creating shade on decks and patios. It handles rain, snow and prolonged sun exposure without degrading. Buyers who need a tarp rated for lifting, hauling or load-bearing applications should look at a different product.

11-12 Mil thickness with 6.0 oz fabric weight

The material thickness of 11 to 12 mil combined with a 6.0-ounce per square yard fabric weight defines the tarp's durability and resistance to tearing. This specification determines whether the sheet will withstand the intended weather and abrasion conditions.

Questions about this item

Will the 11-12 Mil thickness and 6.0 oz fabric weight hold up when used with an older metal frame that has sharp edges?

The heavy-duty polyethylene is tear and acid resistant, and the 11-12 Mil thickness adds durability against abrasion from older frames.

How can I confirm the tarp blocks 100 percent of sun rays once it is set up?

The silver coating on both sides is designed for total sunblock; you should notice significantly cooler temperatures and no light penetration underneath.

Does the package include ropes or bungee cords for the grommets spaced every 18 inches?

Only the tarp with rustproof aluminum grommets is included; tie-down ropes or bungee cords must be purchased separately.
