6U Open Frame Rack for 19in Gear

This 6U open-frame rack accepts standard 19in IT, AV and data equipment. It mounts on a wall or sits on the floor, giving installers flexibility in tight rooms. The cold-rolled steel frame carries up to 110lbs of hardware. Black electrostatic powder coat resists rust and corrosion.

Mixed Hole Pattern and Mounting Kit

The unit provides both 12-24 threaded holes and square holes across its 6U height, so you can secure a wide variety of rails and shelves without adapters. Included accessories, printed instructions and a video guide cover the EIA/ECA-310-E mounting pattern for quick alignment.

15.8in Depth Decides Fit

At 15.8in deep the cabinet suits shallow switches, patch panels and short servers, but longer chassis will not fit. Builders needing 24.8in depth or 9U, 12U or 15U heights should choose a different model.

Questions about this item

Will the cold-rolled steel frame or powder coat need any recoating or rust treatment over time?

The electrostatic powder coat is designed to prevent rust and corrosion, so no recoating or rust treatment is required under normal indoor use.

What load limit will be reached first if I fill every 19-inch bay with patch panels and switches?

The rack is rated for 110 lbs total, so the weight capacity will be the limiting factor before the 6U vertical space runs out.

Does the open-frame design stay quiet and cool when mounted on a wall and running equipment 24/7?

With no built-in fans the rack itself is silent, and the open frame allows passive airflow around devices, so heat dissipation depends on the installed gear and room ventilation.
