TAURKENAM LCDI Power Cord 18AWG 120V 10A 1200W 7.5FT
LCDI power cord with leakage detection that trips within 0.5 s, 18AWG, 120 V 10 A, 7.5 ft for air-conditioner loads
- LCDI trips in 0.5 s when leakage under 5 mA is detected
- Prevents fire from arcing in aged cords with shielded conductors
- Fits portable, window and PTAC air conditioners for indoor use
- 5 ft 18 AWG cord with hot, neutral and ground terminals
- Tested to UL 1699 standard for leakage-current protection
LCDI Power Cord for Air Conditioners
This 18AWG replacement cord integrates a Leakage Current Detection Interrupter that monitors the hot and neutral conductors for damage. It is built for portable, window and PTAC air conditioners operating on 120VAC 60Hz circuits. The plug uses a standard NEMA 5-15P configuration for North American outlets.
Shielded Conductors and Fast Trip Response
Shielded power conductors detect a break in the hot or white line to prevent arcing from aged insulation. If leakage current below 5mA appears between the shield and either conductor, the device trips within .5 seconds. A 7.5FT 18AWG three-core cable with colour-coded terminals simplifies wiring.
Replaces Non-LCDI Cords on Existing Units
The cord upgrades older air-conditioner power leads that lack leakage detection, adding UL1699 compliant protection without changing the appliance. It suits installations where the original cord has deteriorated or where code now requires LCDI. Buyers needing a longer run or a higher ampacity than 10A will need a different solution.

Questions about this item
What NEMA plug standard does this LCDI cord use and what voltage and amperage does it support?
It uses a NEMA 5-15P plug rated for 120 VAC, 10 A and 1200 W at 60 Hz.
What wire gauge, length and conductor colours are provided for the termination end?
An 18 AWG three-conductor cord about 2.2 metres long with black hot, white neutral and green ground terminals.
How is the LCDI module wired into an air-conditioner unit and what common mistake should be avoided?
Connect the black, white and green leads to the corresponding terminals inside the unit; the error is reversing hot and neutral, which prevents the leakage detection from working.
