NEMA 5-20P to 5-20R/5-15R extension cord
This 25-foot extension cord connects a NEMA 5-20P male plug to a female receptacle that accepts both 5-20R T-blade and standard 5-15R plugs. It uses 12 AWG copper conductors rated for 20 amps at 125 volts, delivering up to 2500 watts. The STW jacketed cable is UL approved for heavy-duty use.
Indoor equipment needing a longer 20-amp reach
Suitable for workshops, garages or server racks where a 20-amp outlet must be extended to equipment with either a 5-20P or 5-15P plug. Not for outdoor permanent installation, wet locations or circuits exceeding the 20-amp, 2500-watt rating. Buyers needing a different length should choose another option from the 2, 6, 10, 16, 50 or 100-foot range.
12 AWG copper wire rated 20 amps at 125 volts
The 12 AWG 100-percent copper conductor determines the safe continuous load of 20 amps and 2500 watts at 125 volts. UL-listed STW construction confirms the cable meets the required safety standard for this ampacity. Verify your circuit breaker and equipment draw match these limits before use.

Questions about this item
How do I connect the NEMA 5-20P plug to a 5-15R outlet using this cord?
The female end accepts both 5-20R and 5-15R plugs, so you simply insert the 5-15R plug into the receptacle; the T-blade slot accommodates the neutral blade.
Will the 12 AWG copper conductors need replacement after heavy use?
The 100% copper wire inside the STW jacket is rated for continuous 20 A loading and does not require scheduled replacement under normal conditions.
At what load does the 25 ft length hit its thermal limit first?
The UL-approved 12 AWG STW cable supports a maximum of 20 A at 125 V (2500 W); sustained loads at that rating reach the ampacity limit before voltage drop becomes critical.
