Taylor WSDJ02 WiFi Thermometer Hygrometer

The Taylor WSDJ02 is a wireless temperature and humidity sensor that connects to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks for remote monitoring via the Daybetter app. It is designed for rooms, nurseries, greenhouses, humidors or wine cellars where continuous environmental tracking is needed without a local display.

Sustained monitoring behaviour

The device uploads readings to the cloud at preset intervals using a low-power chip powered by three included AAA batteries. Battery life varies significantly with the chosen sampling rate, and measurement accuracy of ±0.3°C and ±3%RH is maintained when the battery level is sufficient and the unit stays within effective Wi-Fi range.

Compatibility checklist

Verify that your Wi-Fi router broadcasts a 2.4GHz network, as 5GHz is not supported. The system requires the proprietary Daybetter app on iOS or Android and does not work with Tuya, Smartlife, Magic Home, Matter or Home Assistant. No screen is built into the unit, so all configuration and data review happen through the app.

Questions about this item

How much power does the WSDJ02 draw when it uploads data all day?

The WSDJ02 runs on three included AAA alkaline batteries; its low-power chip uploads to the DayBetter app at your chosen interval, so actual battery life varies with the sampling rate you set.

What must I already have at home for the WSDJ02 to connect and report readings?

You need a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and a smartphone with the free DayBetter app from the App Store or Google Play; 5 GHz networks are not supported.

Will the WSDJ02 work alongside my older Tuya or SmartLife sensors in the same app?

No — the WSDJ02 is only compatible with the DayBetter app and does not support Tuya, SmartLife, Magic Home, Matter or Home Assistant.
