EMT T-type conduit body provides a 4-inch junction for pulling and connecting electrical raceways
The Taymac ET400 is an EMT T-type conduit body designed for electrical raceway installations. It provides a junction point for pulling conductors through a three-way intersection in conduit systems. Electricians and contractors use it to maintain code-compliant cable routing in commercial or industrial projects.
As a passive metal fitting, the ET400 generates no heat, produces no noise and draws no electrical power during operation. Its function is purely mechanical, serving as a protective enclosure for wire splices or directional changes. Thermal performance depends entirely on the conductors and load within the connected raceway.
The body is constructed for EMT conduit and features a T-shaped layout with three hubs for 4-inch trade-size tubing. Set-screw or compression couplings secure the raceway, allowing straightforward mounting on walls or structural supports. The design permits easy access for wire pulling and future maintenance without disassembling the entire run.

Thread the 4-inch EMT conduit into each hub, tighten the set-screws firmly, then install the cover and gasket to maintain the weatherproof seal — the gasket step is often skipped.
Inspect the cover gasket periodically for cracking or compression set; replace the gasket if it no longer seals, and re-torque the set-screws if vibration loosens them.
The 4-inch EMT hubs and set-screw connections can loosen under continuous vibration, so the mechanical joint integrity is the first limit to monitor.
