7.1-Channel HDMI Audio Extractor

The Techly IDATA HDMI-EA74K extracts audio from an HDMI source and delivers it through optical S/PDIF and four 3.5 mm analogue outputs. It supports LPCM 7.1, Dolby Digital, DTS and high-bit-rate audio formats up to 192 kHz sampling. The unit passes 4K UHD and 3D video through its HDMI output while meeting HDCP 1.2 and DVI 1.0 compliance. A 5 V 2 A power supply is included.

HDMI Source and Display Compatibility

Verify that your source device can output audio in LPCM 2.0, 5.1 or 7.1 channels, or in the supported Dolby and DTS bitstream formats listed in the specifications. The extractor does not decode audio from an HDMI input that carries only compressed formats not listed, so check the source audio settings before connecting. Your display or projector must accept the 4Kx2K video signal passed through the HDMI output without alteration. Ensure the HDMI cables used support the required 9 Gbps bandwidth for 4K resolution.

Passive Cooling and Low Power Draw

The extractor operates without fans, relying on its metal enclosure for silent heat dissipation during normal use. Power consumption is limited to the included 5 V 2 A supply, so the unit adds negligible load to a standard mains socket. No audible noise is produced, making it suitable for quiet living-room or studio environments.

Questions about this item

Does the box include everything needed to connect the extractor, or do I need to buy any cables or adapters separately?

The package contains the IDATA HDMI-EA74K extractor, a 5V 2A power supply and an information sheet. HDMI, optical or 3.5 mm cables are not included and must be purchased separately.

Which audio output should I choose between the optical port and the four 3.5 mm jacks for 7.1 channel LPCM?

The four 3.5 mm jacks deliver 7.1 channel analogue audio, while the optical port is limited to 2-channel LPCM or 5.1 channel Dolby Digital and DTS. Choose the analogue outputs for full 7.1 LPCM.

What does the 9 Gbps video bandwidth mean when I connect a 4K UHD source to my display through this extractor?

The 9 Gbps bandwidth supports 4Kx2K resolution and 3D video pass-through while meeting HDMI, HDCP 1.2 and DVI 1.0 standards, so the video signal reaches the display unchanged.
