Two-pack Italy/Chile to USA adapter

This two-pack provides Italy CEI 23-16 three-pin male plugs that accept a USA NEMA 5-15R female receptacle. It lets travellers from the USA or Canada connect their three-prong devices to Italian or Chilean wall outlets. Each unit is moulded in black and weighs 80 grams.

Suits North American travellers.

The adapter fits the physical socket only and is rated 10 amps at 125 volts for the American side and 10 amps at 250 volts for the Italian side. It does not change voltage, so appliances that are not dual-voltage will need a separate transformer. Buyers who need a step-up or step-down converter should look at a different product.

Handles 10 amp loads; limited to single-device use

Each adapter carries up to 10 amps at the rated voltage, which covers most laptop chargers, phone chargers and small electronics. It provides one receptacle per adapter, so only one device can be plugged in at a time. High-draw appliances such as heaters or hair dryers exceed the rating and should not be used.

Questions about this item

What type of plug must my device already have to use this adapter?

Your device needs a USA NEMA 5-15R three-prong plug to connect to the adapter's female receptacle.

Will this adapter work with older Italian CEI 23-16 sockets in buildings wired before the current standard?

Yes, the Italy male plug follows the CEI 23-16 standard used in Italian sockets, so it fits older installations that follow that same standard.

How can I confirm the adapter is handling the correct load after I plug it in?

The adapter is rated for 10 A at 125 V for North American devices and 10 A at 250 V for Italian supply; if your equipment draws within those limits and powers on normally, the adapter is working as intended.
