Three-track magnetic reading

This USB credit card reader reads tracks one, two and three on ISO 7811, AAMVA and CADMV magnetic stripes. It connects through a USB interface using keyboard emulation so no driver installation is required. The MSR90 is powered directly from the USB port and weighs 100G.

POS operators and loyalty programmes

The device suits retailers, banks and access-control systems that need quick swipe capture into any text field. It is not suited for buyers who need chip-and-PIN or contactless NFC reading.

Bidirectional three-track capture

A single swipe in either direction captures all three tracks at once, removing the need for multiple passes. This directional flexibility is the specification that determines whether the reader fits the workflow.

Questions about this item

Does this reader need a USB port that can supply power for the keyboard emulation to work?

Yes, the MSR90 draws power from the USB connection and appears as a keyboard device, so the host must provide standard USB power.

Will the MSR90 read loyalty cards encoded on Track 2 alongside newer Track 1 and 3 cards in the same terminal?

It reads all three tracks (1, 2 and 3) in either swipe direction, so older Track 2 loyalty cards and newer multi-track cards work together.

How can I confirm the MSR90 is decoding ISO 7811 cards correctly after plugging it in?

Open any text editor such as Notepad, swipe a test card, and verify the card data appears as typed text in the window.
