Two-pack replacement plug

This two-pack supplies two NEMA 5-15P male plugs rated at 15 A and 125 V for repairing damaged cord ends on tools, appliances or extension leads. The straight-blade, three-wire grounding design accepts a range of wire diameters and is built from flame-retardant ABS with a pure-copper contact block.

DIY wiring convenience

Each plug disassembles easily and the package includes illustrated wiring diagrams so you can rewire the connector without guesswork. The two-piece shell clamps the cable securely, preventing the conductors from being pulled out during use.

15 A 125 V rating

The 15 A, 125 V rating determines whether the plug can handle the load of the device you are repairing; equipment drawing more current or operating at a different voltage requires a different connector.

Questions about this item

Will the cord clamp on the SS159 plug need tightening again after the first few uses?

The plug uses a screw-terminal clamp that grips the cord jacket; re-tightening the two screws after the first day of use keeps the connection secure.

What limits how long I can run a 15 A load through one of these plugs?

The 15 A / 125 V rating and the pure-copper blades set the hard limit; sustained loads above 15 A will overheat the contacts.

Does the plug get warm when it powers a 15 A heater for several hours?

At the full 15 A rating the copper blades and plastic shell will warm noticeably; the plug is rated for 50–60 Hz operation at that current.
