TempAir 500 FT Wireless Thermometer

The TempAir 500 FT wireless indoor outdoor thermometer includes one remote sensor and a base station. It measures temperature and humidity at both locations simultaneously. The system operates on a 915 MHz signal with a rated range of 500 ft. A backlit 3.1 inch by 2.6 inch LCD shows current readings and trend arrows. The unit is powered by included AAA batteries and can sit on a tabletop or mount on a wall.

Suited for single-zone monitoring

This thermometer suits households that want to track conditions in one outdoor or remote area from a central display. It records all-time and 24-hour maximum and minimum values for temperature and humidity. Buyers who need more than one remote sensor should look at a different model. Builders who require data logging or smart-home integration will not find those functions here. The product does not support additional transmitters beyond the one supplied.

500 ft wireless range decides fit

The 500 ft / 150 m line-of-sight range is the specification that determines whether this unit reaches the intended location. Walls, interference and obstructions reduce the practical distance. The sensor updates every 30 seconds across that link. If the mounting spot exceeds this range, the thermometer will not report data.

Questions about this item

How do I install the wireless sensor and what step do people often miss?

Place the sensor up to 500 ft or 150 m from the display with the included 4 AAA batteries; the step often missed is allowing 30 seconds for the first reading to sync.

What maintenance will this thermometer need later?

Replace the 4 AAA batteries in both the display and sensor when readings stop updating; no other user-serviceable parts are required.

What is the first limit reached under continuous outdoor use?

The operating temperature range stops at 158 °F or 70 °C, so sustained heat beyond that will halt measurements first.
