Infrared Thermometer Gun for Surface Measurement
The TempScan infrared thermometer gun measures surface temperatures from a safe distance using a 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio. It is built for cooks, technicians and DIY users who need quick, non-contact readings on pizza ovens, griddles, HVAC vents, automotive components and similar surfaces. The orange handheld unit is brand new and ready for immediate use.
Adjustable Emissivity 0.11.0 for Material Accuracy
The single specification that decides fit is the adjustable emissivity range of 0.11.0, defaulting to 0.95, which lets you match the thermopile sensor to the exact surface material being measured. Without this adjustment the stated accuracy of +/-1.5% cannot be relied on across different finishes such as polished metal, ceramic or painted steel.
Response Under 500 Ms with Auto-Off Backlight
In normal use the gun delivers a reading in less than 500 milliseconds and the backlit LCD shows MAX, MIN and AVG values from the last scan. The display shuts off automatically after 90 seconds of inactivity to conserve the battery, keeping the tool ready for the next measurement without manual power management.

Questions about this item
How does the 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio affect the measurement area when I use the gun?
At a 12-inch distance the thermometer reads a 1-inch diameter spot; doubling the distance doubles the spot size, so you must stand closer for small targets.
What does the adjustable emissivity range of 0.1 to 1.0 actually let me do?
You can match the setting to the surface material — lower for shiny metal, higher for dull or painted surfaces — so the infrared reading stays accurate across different objects.
What physical space or mounting does the orange gun need for storage or use?
The unit is a hand-held pistol grip with a backlit LCD; it requires no fixed mount and fits in a tool bag or drawer when not in use.
