Precision Masking Tape 4317

Tesa 4317 is a fine crepe paper masking tape designed for spray painting, varnishing and lacquering where sharp lines matter. Its natural rubber adhesive bonds to painted metal, glass, plastic, rubber and chrome. The chamois-coloured roll suits automotive refinishing and industrial coating tasks.

Build Integration

The thin, flexible backing conforms to curves and tight contours without wrinkling. It tears cleanly by hand so no dispenser or knife is needed during masking. Paints and fillers grip the back face to limit flaking and bleed. The tape withstands wet sanding and oven-drying cycles up to 80 °C / 176 °F.

Capacity and Headroom

Each roll supplies 55 yards of one-inch-wide tape for extended masking runs. The adhesive holds through multiple coating passes and elevated drying temperatures. It is not intended for structural bonding, high-temperature powder-coat cycles above the rated limit, or permanent outdoor exposure.
