10-Pack EL Wire Kit with Four Power Options

This ten-piece set supplies 10 ft electroluminescent wire strands in red, pink, green, blue, white, purple and orange. Each 2.3 mm tube runs from USB, car cigarette lighter, battery pack or sound-activated controller. Rated lifetime exceeds 12,000 hours and operating range spans -40°C to 80°C.

Power Sources Limited to Low-Voltage DC

USB and car cigarette ports deliver only 5 V or 12 V DC, so brightness and length cannot scale beyond the supplied 10 ft per strand. Battery packs add portability but introduce finite runtime, and sound-activated mode reacts to ambient noise rather than precise timing.

Replaces Single-Colour Rope Lights for Temporary

Swapping static rope lighting for this multi-colour pack adds colour variety and controller flexibility without rewiring. The upgrade makes sense when a project needs quick colour changes or mobile power, but fixed installations needing mains voltage or longer continuous runs are not served.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 10FT or 15FT EL wire for my project?

Choose 10FT for tighter accents or smaller spaces; choose 15FT when you need longer continuous runs across larger areas. Both share the same 2.3mm diameter and controller options.

What does the >12,000-hour lifetime mean for daily use?

At eight hours per day the wire lasts over four years; at seasonal use it lasts many seasons. The rating applies to the electroluminescent wire itself under normal operating temperatures.

Which power source does the sound-activated controller need?

The sound-activated controller runs from the included battery pack; USB and car cigarette lighter controllers draw power from their respective ports instead.
