18-Pack 70 V In-Ceiling System

The Theater Solutions TSQ670 bundle supplies eighteen 6.5-inch two-way speakers built for distributed audio in commercial and retail spaces. Each unit includes a 70 V transformer with five tap settings plus a bypass mode for standard amplifier use.

Pressure-Lock Mounting & Paintable Grilles

Spring-loaded clamps grip a 8.4375-inch cutout without separate hardware, and the 2.875-inch mounting depth fits shallow plenums. ABS housings and removable grilles accept paint so the 9.3125-inch overall diameter blends into any ceiling finish.

Transformer Taps & Wiring Flexibility

Five power taps at 16, 8, 4, 2 and 1 watt let installers balance levels across long cable runs without recalculating impedance. Spring-loaded raw-wire terminals accept stripped conductor quickly, while the transformer bypass supports conventional low-impedance wiring when 70 V distribution is not required.

Questions about this item

What do the 70 V transformer tap settings of 16, 8, 4, 2 and 1 watt actually cap?

Each tap limits the maximum power the speaker draws from the 70 V line; choose the tap that matches the SPL you need for the zone.

What ceiling cut-out and depth does the 9.3125" speaker with its Pressure Lock Mounting System require?

Cut a round 8.4375" hole and ensure at least 2.875" of clearance above the ceiling for the housing to clamp securely.

How are the spring-loaded raw wire connections wired, and what is the common mistake?

Strip each conductor, push it into the spring terminal, and verify the tap lead is moved to the desired watt setting before powering the amplifier.
