Outdoor-ready Cat6 cable

This 100-foot Cat6 Ethernet cable is built for direct burial and outdoor exposure. It serves installers running network links between buildings, to cameras or to wireless access points where the cable faces soil, moisture and sunlight. The UV-resistant LLDPE jacket protects the four twisted 24 AWG pairs for long-term service in harsh conditions.

Temperature and signal performance

The jacket withstands temperature swings, water, snow and UV radiation without degrading. For runs shorter than 180 feet the cable supports 10 Gigabit at 550 MHz; beyond that distance it carries 1 Gigabit at 250 MHz. No external power or active components are involved, so the link adds no heat or noise to the installation.

Connectors and daily handling

Standard RJ45 plugs on each end mate with routers, switches, servers, printers, VoIP phones and NAS devices. The bundle includes 15 cable ties for securing the run along walls, through conduit or across trenches. The 24 AWG conductors keep the cable flexible enough for tight bends while remaining rugged enough for direct burial.

Questions about this item

How is the 100 ft cable installed outdoors, and what step do people often miss?

Run the cable in conduit or bury it directly; the step often missed is securing it with the included 15 ties every few feet to prevent movement and strain on the RJ45 connectors.

What maintenance or replacement will this outdoor Cat6 cable need over time?

Inspect the UV LLDPE jacket annually for cracks or animal damage; replace the cable if the jacket degrades or if water reaches the 24 AWG conductors inside.

At what length does the 550 MHz bandwidth limit drop to 250 MHz on this cable?

The 550 MHz rating applies up to 180 feet; beyond that the cable operates at 250 MHz, so the full 100 ft length stays within the higher bandwidth window.
