Windows Hello Biometric Login

This USB fingerprint reader adds Windows Hello biometric authentication to computers running Windows 10 or 11. It enables instant password-free login, sign-in and unlocking with a single touch. The device stores credentials locally using asymmetric encryption through the Windows Hello and Passport platforms.

For Shared Windows PCs, Not Mac or Chrome OS

It suits households or small teams where up to five people need quick access to the same Windows machine. The sensor registers fingerprints from any angle and improves accuracy with each use. It is not compatible with Mac OS or Chrome OS, so buyers using those platforms should look elsewhere.

Nano Form Factor at 5.1 Grams

The module measures 20.6 by 17 by 12 millimetres and weighs 5.1 grams, occupying minimal space on a laptop or desktop port. Its tiny size makes it practical for permanent attachment or frequent travel without blocking adjacent ports.

Questions about this item

Does the nano fingerprint reader draw enough power to warm up or make noise during all-day use?

The reader weighs 5.1 g and measures 20.6 x 17 x 12 mm with no moving parts, so it runs silently and adds negligible heat to a USB port.

What Windows version must my PC already run for the reader to work?

It requires Windows 10 or Windows 11 with current updates so the Hello biometric driver installs automatically.

Will the sensor recognise fingers enrolled on an older Windows 7 machine I still use?

No, credentials are stored locally on the Windows 10 or 11 device and are not transferable to earlier operating systems.
