Heavy-Duty Water-Activated Tape

TooCust WAT-1 is a brown kraft packing tape reinforced with fiberglass for heavy-duty shipping. The gummed paper tape requires water to activate its plant-based adhesive, creating a strong, tamper-evident bond that becomes part of the carton. Each roll measures 2 inches by 165 feet and is fully recyclable.

Ideal for High-Volume Shippers

This tape suits businesses and individuals sealing large quantities of cartons who want a professional, writable surface for markings. It is not for users needing instant self-adhesive tape or those without access to a water dispenser or sponge for activation. Buyers wanting plastic-based or pressure-sensitive options should look elsewhere.

Check Your Dispenser and Workflow

Ensure you have a compatible water-activated tape dispenser or a manual method to evenly moisten the tape before application. Verify that your packing environment allows for the brief drying time required for the adhesive to bond securely. Confirm the 2-inch width fits your standard carton seams and sealing requirements.

Questions about this item

Do I need a water-activated tape dispenser to moisten and apply this 2-inch kraft tape?

Yes, the adhesive only activates when wet, so a dispenser with a water reservoir or a manual sponge applicator is required to moisten the gummed surface before sealing cartons.

Will the fiberglass reinforcement in this tape damage the corrugated boxes I currently use for shipping?

No, the fiberglass strands are embedded inside the kraft paper to increase tensile strength; they do not abrade or weaken standard corrugated board during application or transit.

How can I verify the seal is tamper-evident once the tape dries on the carton?

After the water-activated adhesive dries, the tape bonds into the carton fibers — any attempt to remove it tears the box surface, providing visible evidence of opening.
