  • Power over Ethernet simplifies deployment with a single cable for data and power

Flexible Placement Mesh Unit

The Deco X50-PoE is a single AX3000 mesh Wi-Fi 6 node designed for homes or small offices that want whole-home coverage with versatile mounting options. It includes hardware for tabletop, wall or ceiling installation and supports Power over Ethernet to simplify cabling where power outlets are scarce.

PoE Upgrade From Standard Nodes

This unit replaces a conventional mesh satellite that relies on a separate power adapter by drawing power through the Ethernet link. The jump is worth it when you need to place a node in a hallway, loft or garage where running a mains cable is impractical but a network drop already exists.

AX3000 Capacity With Multi-Gig Wired Backhaul

Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 delivers 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz for a combined 3.0 Gbps wireless throughput, while the 2.5 Gbps PoE port and an additional Gigabit port provide wired backhaul headroom for high-speed internet plans and local transfers. It comfortably handles 4K streaming and cloud gaming across multiple rooms but runs out of steam for sustained multi-gigabit NAS workloads or dense environments demanding tri-band dedicated backhaul.

Questions about this item

What mounting hardware is included for the Deco X50-PoE unit?

The package includes ceiling and wall mounting kits with adaptive accessories, allowing installation on a ceiling, wall, or placement on a tabletop.

How is the Deco X50-PoE powered and what common step is missed during app setup?

It supports Power over Ethernet via the 2.5 Gbps port or the included power adapter; a common oversight is not connecting the unit to the main router via Ethernet before starting the Deco app configuration.

Which ports on the Deco X50-PoE may need a cable upgrade to reach full 2.5 Gbps speeds later?

The unit has one 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port and one Gigabit port; to utilise the faster port, ensure the connected switch, router, or device also supports 2.5 Gbps and use Cat 5e or better cabling.
