Multi-WAN VPN Router

The TP-Link ER605 is a wired VPN router built for small and medium businesses that need up to four Gigabit WAN ports for load balancing and failover. It integrates with the Omada SDN platform for centralised management through hardware, software or cloud controllers. The device also provides SPI firewall protection and limited lifetime protection.

Network Administrators Seeking Centralised Control

This router suits IT managers who want remote cloud access and a single interface to oversee gateways, access points and switches across multiple sites. It is not for buyers who require wireless connectivity built into the gateway or who need more than 20 concurrent LAN-to-LAN IPsec tunnels. Home users without SDN-compatible hardware will not benefit from the integrated platform.

Sustained Multi-Site VPN Throughput

Under continuous load the ER605 maintains up to 20 IPsec, 16 OpenVPN, 16 L2TP and 16 PPTP connections simultaneously while enforcing bandwidth control and session limits. The metal casing aids heat dissipation during extended operation and the SPI firewall inspects traffic without interrupting the load-balanced WAN links. Remote cloud management remains responsive even when the router is handling maximum VPN sessions.
