Coverage and capacity

The RE450 is a dual-band wireless range extender and media bridge that plugs directly into a wall socket. It delivers combined Wi-Fi speeds up to 1750Mbps, split between 450Mbps on 2.4GHz and 1300Mbps on 5GHz, and can extend coverage up to 2000 square feet for up to 32 connected devices.

Installation experience

The Smart Signal Indicator light shows the optimal position so you can place the unit where the router signal is still strong enough to repeat. Three adjustable external antennas let you orient the beams for better reach, and the single Gigabit Ethernet port allows a wired device to join the extended network without extra hardware.

Best fit and limits

Households that need to fill dead zones for streaming, gaming, smart-home gear or Alexa devices will benefit from the simple plug-in design and broad router compatibility. Buyers who require a mesh backbone with dedicated backhaul, multiple wired ports, or outdoor-rated hardware should consider a different class of product.
