The module is hot-pluggable and supports Digital Diagnostic Monitoring for real-time link health.

Capacity and headroom at 10 Gbps over 10 km

At 10 Gbps the module handles full-duplex Ethernet across campus or metro spans up to 10 km without speed loss. Power draw stays below 1.5 W, leaving headroom in dense switch deployments. The operating humidity range of 10-90 % RH non-condensing and storage range of -40 to 85 °C suit standard indoor equipment rooms. It is not suited for links longer than 10 km or multi-mode fiber installations.

SFP+ MSA compliance decides fit

The single specification that determines compatibility is compliance with the 10G SFP+ Multi-Source Agreement.
