Wireless access point delivering Wi-Fi 6 speeds up to 3.0 Gbps with mesh, seamless roaming and WPA3 security
The TP-Link EAP653 is a Wi-Fi 6 wireless access point that ships without a DC power adapter. It draws power through a PoE+ connection and integrates with the Omada SDN platform for centralised management via hardware controller, software controller or cloud interface. Standalone operation is also supported. Remote configuration is available through the Omada app.
This unit suits network builders who already have PoE+ switching infrastructure and want a slim access point for ceiling or wall mounting in offices, hotels, classrooms or cafés. It does not suit buyers who need a device that can plug directly into a mains outlet or who require an included power supply for immediate desktop use.
The radio delivers a combined data rate of up to 2976 Mbps across dual bands using 1024-QAM and HE60 modulation. This aggregate speed figure determines whether the access point can meet the throughput requirements of a given deployment.

| Wi-Fi standard | Wi-Fi 6 |
| Wireless standards | IEEE 802.11a / IEEE 802.11ac / IEEE 802.11b / IEEE 802.11g / IEEE 802.11n |
| Wireless speed | AX3000 / Up to 3.0 Gbit/s |
Mount the ultra-slim unit, connect a PoE+ Ethernet cable to the single port, and adopt it in the Omada controller; the step often missed is enabling Mesh and Seamless Roaming in the controller before expecting them to work.
The device has no user-replaceable parts; maintenance is limited to firmware updates through the Omada app or controller and occasional vent cleaning to prevent dust build-up.
The 2976 Mbps aggregate wireless throughput ceiling (1024-QAM, HE60) is the first hard limit; beyond that the single PoE+ uplink and controller processing become bottlenecks.
